日本人は余暇をどう過ごしているのか

公益財団法人 日本生産性本部の余暇創研が、『レジャー白書 2019』を発行する。これは、調査等をもとに、わが国における余暇の実態を分析したものである。調査内容は次の通り。

■調査方法：インターネット調査
■調査対象：全国15歳～79歳の男女
■有効回収数：3,226（人）
■調査時期：2019年1～2 月

2018年の余暇の過ごし方ランキングのトップ５とそれぞれの参加人口は次のようになった。

1位：国内観光旅行（避暑、避寒、温泉など） 5,430万人
2位：外食（日常的なものは除く） 4,180万人
3位：読書（仕事、勉強などを除く娯楽としての） 4,170万人
4位：ドライブ 4,160万人
5位：映画（テレビは除く） 3,610万人

上記のように首位は国内観光旅行であった。2011年以来、8年連続の首位である。しかも、2017年よりも参加人口が200万人弱増えた。

余暇市場全体の規模は71兆9,140億円（前年比0.1%増）であった。特に観光・行楽部門（前年比4.1％増）では、インバウンド効果でホテルが大きく伸びたが、旅館は停滞した。旅行業では海外旅行が大きく伸びた。遊園地・レジャーランド、会員制リゾートクラブとしては大手が好調であった。

20代男性に限っては、映画(テレビは除く)が1位であったものの、国内観光旅行は2位にであった。

以上のように、国内観光旅行は、余暇を楽しむための活動のようである。うれしい結果である。余暇でリフレッシュすれば、その後の生活や仕事でのモチベーションも向上するだろう。オンとオフを切り替えて、楽しく人生を過ごしてもらいたい。
